We are users of the software ourselves, so we have a reason to make sure it works intuitively. Having more features than the competition does not mean much when you only need the small subset that they all provide. You just want the interface to get out of the way so that subset can work well. You want programs that work for you, not the programmer who made the software.

We know that you do not want to spend thousands on a product that has all the bells and whistles that you never use. When you shell out $30 per feature, but only use three of the sixty, why should you pay $1800? We were graduate students once too, and when we finished we still did not want to pay mega bucks for our software. Now you don’t have to either.
